February 14, 2012

Last night was a full of short sleep.  The doctor had an x-ray scheduled for eight last night and when they read the results they noticed her right lung was not fully inflated.  They then decided to take more x-rays to see if she had a hole in the lining of her lung.  We received a phone call at four this morning informing us that Harli did not have a hole in her lung, which was a huge relief.  I think we can both say that when the phone rang our hearts stopped beating for a minute.  Other than a couple of times when Harli's heart rate and her breathing dropped she had a good night.

This morning they checked Harli's red blood cell count and determined that she qualified for a blood transfusion.  The only problem was that they were not able to get her IV put in because her veins have almost disappeared. They ended up trying four different times to put her IV in and then called in quits.  Since Harli's blood count is not extremely low they have decided to wait and do the blood transfusion on Thursday, hoping with Harli starting to eat more that her veins will start showing up more.  The rest of the day went fairly smooth.

Blair got the opportunity to kangaroo Harli today for two and a half hours.  I am sure that made Blair's Valentines day since I was not able to be out there.  Today they weighed Harli and she now weighs 3lbs 1.5ozs.  She is finally over the three pound mark and has more than doubled her birth weight.  What an amazing milestone we have reached today and how amazing is our God when we put our trust and faith in him.  They raised Harli's milk up to 7cc's today and plan on keep raising it as soon as they can.

Holding her oxygen tube in her left hand and looking to see if anyone is going to witness her pulling it out.

The look of someone being caught in the act!

This picture really scares me, she sleeps like her mother.  She can not lay in one place!

So peaceful........for the moment!

Happy Valentines Day!
